Senator Aduda Joins APC

In a move that has reshaped the political landscape of the Federal Capital Territory, Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Accompanied by a massive wave of supporters to the party’s National Secretariat, the former 9th Senate representative formalized his arrival in a high-level meeting with APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Senator Aduda expressed a fierce commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, stating his intent to leverage his vast grassroots network to deliver a "six over six" victory across all FCT Area Councils.

Candidly reflecting on his influence as a deciding factor in past local elections, Aduda noted that his realignment is a strategic move to work directly for the President’s vision and ensure a seamless path to victory. Prof. Yilwatda warmly received the Senator, acknowledging the immense political weight Aduda carries after dominating FCT politics for over a decade.

This transition significantly weakens the opposition’s stronghold and fuels speculation regarding a strategic repositioning for the 2027 Senate race, where Aduda’s consistent record of project delivery remains his greatest asset.
